Credence Genomics can be referred to as the gold standard opportunity provider in the discipline of genetic research in Sri Lanka. Our laboratory is the only one of its kind, thus marking the dawn of new era in genetic research. Our research scope covers all aspects of genetic disorders, cancer studies, metagenomics, de novo sequencing, whole genome sequencing (small genomes), personalized medicine and cell free DNA studies. All provided at an affordable rate. Next-Generation Sequencing
Modern scientific discoveries that resulted from the application of next generation DNA sequencing technologies highlight the prominent influence of these massively parallel platforms of genetics. The throughput, scalability, coverage and accuracy is very high in NGS. Latest improvements in sequencing technologies have made it possible to generate a large amount of data quickly and cost-effectively. When compared with the throughput and resource constraints in traditional methods, NGS provides investigators with the required capability for analyzing large panel of genes or whole genomes in a single run.
NGS offers an ideal platform for comprehensive mutation analysis of constitutional disorders (germline variations) and cancer diagnostics (somatic variations). With the rapid growth of this groundbreaking technology, clinical laboratories are now able to facilitate comprehensive gene panels for several complex inherited disorders. Therefore, the field of cancer biology has rapidly developed with better understanding of tumor-suppressor genes and oncogenes involved in different types of tumors, overcoming inherent limitations of conventional sequencing technologies. NGS testing has also come across in clinical infectious disease testing, by sequencing hypervariable the bacterial 16S rRNA gene region as well as ITS gene sequences in fungi. NGS testing has a broad spectrum in clinical applications and holds promises in providing newer insights into molecular biology deciphering the nature of human disease.
